One of the gifts of getting older is clarity—clarity about yourself, your health, your family, and your vocation. The real question becomes: what will I do with this clarity? And how will it inform my daily decisions—or, as I often say, my yeses?

It has become unmistakably clear one of my yeses is to devote more time to cultivating and multiplying virtuous leadership at different phases of our leadership pipeline. This includes young adults wrestling with faith and vocation, coordinators guiding our mentoring work through Precious Me and Young Commanders, and senior leadership guiding organizations in their communities. This clarity of calling is what led to the founding of Resurgence Leadership Foundation in the first place: to provide access to training, resources, wisdom, and accountability—so our communities can reflect the Kingdom of God.

The past 16 years have served as Jesus’ incubator—refining our proof of concept. Despite the challenges, we have remained faithful in walking with leaders, caregivers, mentors, and students. That faithfulness has prepared us for this moment.

Recently, I was doing research on youth ministries and urban mentoring programs. What I discovered was astonishing: more than 77% of them are led by part-time or volunteer leaders. When I read that, I said to the Lord, “So You kept us small so that we could develop the systems, processes, and fortitude to be sustainable within a part-time model. Genius, Lord!”

Phase One is complete. Now it’s time for Phase Two: Multiplication.

As I transition out of day-to-day mentoring operations to focus on our leadership pathways, I want to publicly affirm our commitment to stewarding what has been entrusted to us. We believe growth is a gift—but never at the cost of our calling. To remain a faithful movement, we choose integrity over influence and depth over speed.

Here are the guiding convictions that will shape our expansion:

  • We will stay true to our message, speaking with clarity and conviction—not chasing trends or tailoring our voice for funders or platforms.
  • We will prioritize the formation of virtuous leaders before launching new sites, ensuring they embody our mission and steward it faithfully.
  • We will protect relational health and community trust, knowing that sustainable growth flows from the strength of relationships.
  • We will uphold character as non-negotiable, even when outcomes are impressive—fruit without integrity is not fruit that lasts.
  • We will practice patient discernment, resisting the urge to move hastily and instead listening for the Spirit’s leading.
  • We will choose consistency and godliness over charisma and giftedness, trusting that faithfulness is the foundation of lasting impact.
  • We will make decisions in community, grounded in prayer, active listening, and shared discernment—reflecting our dependence on God and one another.

As a board, team, and virtuous community, we are resolved to follow these convictions because we believe:

“Faithfulness is not the fast track, but it’s the fruitful one.”

Call to Action: Join the Mission of Multiplication

To our Resurgence family—our donors, intercessors, and friends—we need you now more than ever. As we enter this new phase of multiplication:

  • Will you continue to give faithfully, so that we can raise up and resource virtuous leaders across communities?
  • Will you continue to intercede, covering this movement in prayer as we multiply with wisdom and humility?
  • Will you continue to walk with us, sharing our story and inviting others to join the work of building a just society through Christ-centered leadership?

We are not building fast. We are building faithfully. And with your continued partnership, we believe the fruit will echo for generations.

Let’s multiply—together.
