We encounter things every single day that are “impossible”. Here are a few of those:
Jeremiah 10:12 says, “God made the earth by His power, He founded the world by His wisdom; He stretched out the heavens by His understanding.”
Jesus says, in Matthew 19:26, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God, everything is possible.”
God will always be and do more than we can explain with our human, finite minds. Humans will always try to “figure it out” or explain it away. When humans cannot figure it out, the tendency is to dismiss what cannot be explained.
At some point, both with science and with a relationship with God, we have to take a leap of faith. How things work or exist will always require a “theory” that has yet to be proven or discovered. Until such time as we know everything, we trust, or we don’t. The evidence is there to show us that there is a God who created universes, life, and all the other things that baffle the human mind and defy what is known.
God is faithful. He has shown us His faithfulness over and over and continues to do so. We can either put our faith in Him, or in man’s weak attempts to explain how we got here and why we exist.
God says that He loves each of us so much that no matter who we are and what we have done, He wants to spend eternity with us. Those two “impossibilities” require leaps of faith, too. One deals with our worth (He loves us no matter what), and one deals with an eternity of existence.
When we see ourselves or others as “impossible to love”, it feels strange to change the view to “worthy and wanted”. But that is exactly how God sees us. He isn’t afraid of our messes, or our heavy burdens. As a matter of fact, He joins us in the middle of those difficult places and changes our view of them. The situation may not change, but it is given purpose and meaning. We no longer go it alone. He shoulders the load and carries us, as well. Close enough for us to hear His heartbeat.
If you haven’t ever trusted the One who created you and loves your soul, please call out to Him. If you want to talk to a human who can share some insight on the depth of this love, ask someone who knows it firsthand. If you don’t know of anyone to ask, here are two people who would love to talk with you: Cornelius Williams, cwilliams@resurgence.co and Stacey Thompson, stezdt@yahoo.com.
God bless you, my worthy, loved friend. “With GOD, all things are possible.”
